The Kinsley Twining Scholarship

The Old Lyme Conservation Trust, Inc. is pleased to be able to provide scholarship support to college students who are graduates of the Lyme-Old Lyme high school and who are pursuing college degrees in environmental science, environmental studies, ecology, conservation biology, or related areas.


The Trust will provide one $1,000 scholarship per year for a qualified student on a competitive basis. 

Previous awardees are eligible to re-apply. 

Students interested in the Old Lyme Conservation Trust scholarship should complete an application form available below or by writing to the Old Lyme Conservation Trust, Inc.

The application requires applicants to submit a short essay describing their educational and career goals, and have three (3) letters of recommendation submitted on their behalf (at least two from high school or college instructors).

Students who receive scholarships from the Old Lyme Conservation Trust, Inc. must provide evidence of college acceptance or continued matriculation status. 


All application materials should be sent to the address listed on the application form, no later than August 31, 2008.

Awards for 2008 will be announced by October 1.

Lee is an undergraduate at the Brown University in Providence, RI, concentrating in ecology and evolutionary biology.

2006 - Elizabeth Nyberg

Elizabeth is an undergraduate at the Union College in Schenectady, New York, her major is Biology.

2005 - Alyssa Strizzi

Alyssa is an undergraduate at the University of Connecticut at Avery Point, Connecticut her major is Coastal Studies.

2004 - Abigail King

Abigail is an undergraduate at the Colgate University, Hamilton, New York where she studies Environmental Geography.

2003 - Aubris Lace Pfeiffer

Aubris was an undergraduate at the Colby College, Waterville Maine,
where she studied Biology with Environmental Science as her concentrated area of study.
