Elizabeth B. Karter Watch Rock Preserve - "Watch Rock" Watch Rock is a 25 acre preserve on the Duck River, a tributary of the Connecticut River. Picnicking and walking are permitted from 6 a. m. to sunset any day, year round.
Directions.
The Watch Rock property (25 acres) is reached by taking McCurdy
Road from the center of town, crossing 156, and turning right
on Joel
Drive, then a left and a quick right brings you to the entrance and the
parking lot.
Trail. The trail starts at the northwest corner of the parking lot and leads to several more trails along the shoreline. There are picnic benches along the outlet of the Duck River and numerous places along the shoreline from which to fish and catch blue crabs in season.
