Photo Contest Reception
All are invited to join us on Friday, April
24, 6-8 pm. at the
Old Lyme Senior Center for a display of all photos that were
submitted to the
fourth
annual photo contest. The contest prizes will be given out. Light
refreshments will be served.
The event is free and open to the public
but please send an email to
LandTrustPhotos@yahoo.com to let us know how many will be attending
so that we can plan for the refreshments.

Fish Ladder Walk
The
Old
Lyme Phoebe Griffins Noyes library arranges a walk on the Trust's
George & Woodward H. Griswold
Preserve to watch the fish spring run. Host will be Steve Gephard
from the DEP. Talk starts at 10 am at the library, followed by the walk
(car pooling to the preserve is recommended).

Trail at the Watch Rock Preserve.

Join us for trail work on Sundays -
at 1 p.m.
NOTE: This site will be updated in case of any cancellation.
Meet at the
Old Lyme High School parking lot at 1 pm.
Wear boots, long pants and some type
of glasses and bring heavy gloves.
Bring tools if you can: E. g. small clippers, hand saw (for
cutting tree limbs), loppers.

Slide show
The Trust is
working on a slide show that will be used for presentations and
education about nature here in Town. Therefore, we are asking
you if you can contribute with photographs of any of the
following:

Watch Rock
- fishing line, trash, entrance off of Rt156, etc.
-
Buckey Brook
-
George H. and Woodward Griswold Preserve - impacting of soil
from bike ramps, beaver lodge, geese or swans.
-
Salt Marsh on Rt 156 across from the
Gulf Station that is next to Cherrystone.
-
Old Oak tree behind the Old Lyme Inn (Champlain
Farm north property).
-
Lay Property
– ATV damage to trails.
-
Large expanse of lawn. Lawn going right
up to water edge with no buffer. River or stream with a buffer.
-
Squirrels (three types), great blue
herons, osprey, raccoon etc.
-
Indian Ledge on
Ames property, “caves” on the Ames property.
-
Signs that say No ATV’s or No Motorized
Vehicles or No Trespassing.
-
Jericho

Mile Creek

Trail and views of Lieutenant River from
the Lohmann Buck Twining Preserve.
