The Lyme Land Conservation Trust, Inc. and the Old Lyme Conservation Trust, Inc. are once more sponsoring a photo contest for pictures taken in our towns!

Rules

The contest is open to amateur photographers only. Submission deadline is January 31, 2008. Photos can be in color or black & white using film or digital cameras. There is a separate youth category for those 14 years and younger.

As an alternative to mailing the photos they can be dropped off at the Old Lyme Library through January 31, 2008.

Prizes

Prizes will be given for the best artistic composition in the following four categories in addition to the youth prizes:

Landscapes/Waterscapes
Plants
Wildlife
Cultural/Historic
John Mitchell Environmental Award:
Best photo supporting or helping our environment

Prizes will be given out in March, 2008:
$100 for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place.

This year there will also be a
$100 John Mitchell Environmental Award.

Judges

William Burt is a naturalist, wildlife photographer, author of "Rare and "Elusive Birds" & "Shadowbirds", and has written for Audubon and Smithsonian magazines.

Anne Hoy is Professor of Art & Photography at NYU, former Curator at the International Center of Photography and Author.

Amy Kurtz Lansing, Curator at the Florence Griswold Museum.
